I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really proceeding.
